EnvironmentHome is where you feel safe and well cared for. That's exactly where Sernitas Care comes in. As an outpatient nursing service in Bochum, we support you and your relatives with professional, reliable, and compassionate care—tailored to your individual needs.
Our experienced nursing staff provide treatment care in accordance with §37 SGB V, including administering medication, wound care, and monitoring important vital signs. In basic care in accordance with SGB XI, we support you in everyday life, for example with personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, or incontinence care. We also offer domestic support so that you can concentrate on what is important: your well-being.
Of course, we provide comprehensive advice on care levels, applications, and processes.

What is Sernitas Care and what do we offer?
Sernitas Care is your trusted partner for professional and compassionate home care. We offer individual care solutions tailored to the needs of our clients – from basic care to medical support.
Is consulting with Sernitas Care free of charge?
There are no costs for you. Our consultations are a service provided for by law and are billed directly to your care insurance fund.
Who can use our care services?
Our care services are available to everyone, regardless of age or circumstances. This includes senior citizens, younger people in need of care, people with disabilities and relatives who require support in their everyday lives. Together, we will find a suitable, individual solution for your needs.
Is religion, language, or culture taken into consideration when providing care?
Yes, absolutely. For us, people are the focus – regardless of their origin, language or religion. We pay attention to cultural sensitivity and ensure respectful coexistence.
How can I find out if I am eligible for care subsidies?
We would be happy to advise you on possible care services and subsidies. We will work with you to review your eligibility and help you with all applications.
What distinguishes Sernitas Care from other providers?
Sernitas Care is based at the BioMedizinZentrum (Biomedical Centre) at Ruhr University Bochum and combines nursing practice with academic standards and innovative approaches. We focus on people – regardless of their origin, language, culture, religion or beliefs. At the same time, we attach great importance to professionalism, scientific quality and respectful care with intercultural skills.

What services do you offer?
We offer basic care in accordance with SGB XI, treatment care in accordance with § 37 SGB V, domestic help, respite care, as well as support and relief services.
What is the difference between basic care and treatment care?
Basic care includes assistance with everyday tasks (e.g. personal hygiene, nutrition) and treatment care, i.e. medical services prescribed by a doctor (e.g. administering medication, wound care).
Do you also offer a 24-hour on-call service?
Yes, we are available for our customers around the clock.
Who covers the costs of care?
Depending on the service, the nursing care insurance fund or health insurance fund will cover all or part of the costs.
Will I incur any additional costs?
That depends on the scope of services and your level of care. We clarify all costs transparently in advance.
Do you bill the insurance companies directly?
Yes, we handle billing directly with nursing care and health insurance companies.
Do I need a care level?
A recognised care level is required for basic care and support services.
Who will come to my home?
Our team consists of certified nursing staff and trained care and support personnel.
Do the caregivers change frequently?
We value having permanent caregivers to ensure trust and continuity.
How soon can care begin?
Usually at short notice – after an initial personal consultation.
How does an initial consultation work?
We discuss your needs, clarify organisational issues and draw up an individual care plan.
Can I adjust services flexibly?
